Information Systems interns participate in the full running of a global IT group supporting local staff and all the field offices. IJM maintains their Global Systems and Infrastructure centrally from the DC office. College students, recent graduates and graduate students with some classes in Information Technology or software development are preferred. Although specific tasks vary depending on the nature of the work in progress during the internship, interns can expect their tasks to include:
  • Reviewing antivirus data, IS tickets and other logs;
  • Correlating data to identify potential cyber incidents;
  • Reviewing open source cyber intelligence for potential malware and virus threats;
  • Assisting in development of data security policies;
  • Assisting in development of data security training;
  • Providing daily cyber intelligence for incorporation into threat reporting;
  • Assisting in review, design and development of IS contingency operations/disaster recovery; and
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.
Responsibilities:
IJM's Internship opportunities vary every session and look different in every office. Interns generally will assist a specific person or team. The positions involve the described tasks and responsibilities as well as other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Field Office Director or Supervisor.

General Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree is required for all internships and fellowships except any Washington, DC Internships (Bachelor's degree must be in progress for DC Internships and applicants need to have completed at least two years of undergraduate study);
  • Professional behavior and communication, both written and oral;
  • Organizational and administrative skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Flexibility to work in ever-changing environments; and
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and Windows strongly preferred.

    • Cover Letter describing your interest in an IJM Internship or Fellowship
    • Resume
    • Statement of Faith (if not addressed in cover letter)
2. In addition to completing the online application, all candidates must submit the following documents: 
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate studies (may be sent either by email or mail)
  • Two separate references: One IJM Work or Academic Reference Form and one IJM Spiritual Reference Form. Please have your references send their completed forms separately via email or mail by the application deadline date.
