HSToday reports that legislation has been introduced in the U.S. Senate that would make it easier for DHS to hire and retain its cybersecurity workforce. 'The DHS Cybersecurity Workforce Recruitment and Retention Act of 2014 would give the DHS secretary hiring and compensation authorities for cybersecurity experts like those of the Secretary of Defense. The legislation, which was introduced by Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE), chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, is scheduled for consideration during the committee’s business meeting Wednesday," the news site notes.
